It's Outta Here!!

I'm excited to announce that this round of chemotherapy is officially over with amazing results!!! My white count is in the "normal" range and the mass that was on my liver is gone! Guess all the abdomal pain was well worth it in the long run.
Oliver was so excited to hear the news that he gave me a small bath!!!

On a somewhat sadder note, today I said good-bye to a couple dear friends! Joe,  Shannon and Cobb (their fur baby) are moving to Flordia in the morning.😪  They are off to start a new chapter in life. I wish them all the best!!

Last night of chemo (June 28th)

Earlier I took my last round of chemotherapy. Unfortunately my body & chemotherapy are not agreeing. Spending another night being ill and in pain. This drug is a super ninja and I know that it is doing it's job, but why do I have to feel everything!!!
I had a wonderful evening with Lisa. We went to dinner, the arcade and even listen to some live music.
But on the way home the aches & pains started. Our stairs were never ending and the feat wore me out before the top. After becoming ill and stumbling out of the restroom, Oliver gave me some loving. I don't know what I would do without the furball. He hasn't been more than two feet away from me when I am by myself.
Now I'm laying in bed feeling so much pain in most of my joints. (Not looking forward to arthritis, but I will take it over chemotherapy).
Since today was my last round of treatment I get to have some tests performed tomorrow. Excited to hear if the "super ninja" did it's job and I can start healing. Pleae keep our family in yours prayers.
And on a even better note, Adam returns home after 25 days away tomorrow night!!!

Showing NHL who's the boss!

This has been one heck of a round of chemotherapy.  I'm starting my 3rd week today and they have uped my dosage from 15mg to 40mg. This has been the original plan, so all is going accordingly.

I keep thinking that I'm the one in control of this situation, but yesterday I was shown that I am not.

I signed up to run a 7k run for June 21st with my good friend Lisa at the beginning of the month. So after being told a new round of treatment would start June 9th I was faced with a difficult decision, run or forgo $30. After a long discussion with Adam, I planned on running the race with intervals & at a slow pace.

I finished the run in 1:03:19, a very slow pace, but I felt so accomplished. Later that night I didn't fare too well. I got serverly ill, called the nurses line and the oncologist was conferenced in. I was put on bed rest for 12 hours and told to call back to check in. It got better throughout the night but sleep didn't come easily.

I was able to get up, get dressed and make it to my second job today. I feel like a MAC truck has hit me and backed up to secure the job, but I'm out & about.

Moral of the story.....Cancer sucks and I'm not the boss. I'm a mere player in the game trying to win.

Round 7, day 4 (June 12, 2014)

Chemo is rough. No walk in the park. I've been on Cyclophosphamide back in 2011 but I don't remember it being this bad.
I've spent the majority of my night in the bathroom with my head in the toilet. I have no energy or strength left in me. Oliver just stares at me like I'm absolutely insane. Poor kitty!
I did get to spend a few moments on the couch today cuddle up with him. Takes his job of keeping me safe so seriously.

Thank you all for your love, support & prayers.

Round 7 with NHL

Vikki has started another round of chemotherapy for her battle with NHL (Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma).
On Friday she went to the emergency room for not feeling well. When the test results came back we where informed that there where 4 masses active. Three we have known about, the 4th is on her liver. Chemo will be daily for three weeks and we will wait a month before returning for results.
Please keep us in your prayers!

REV3 Glow Run Fun 5k

Another run is in the books. The REV3 Glow Run Fun 5k is #3 of the 2014 year for us.

It was a beautiful run down Neyland Drive along the Tennessee River in Knoxville. It was a chilly evening, but we warmed up shortly after the run began.

5k #2 of 2014

This running addiction is getting to us and our pocketbook.

Today was the 30th Annual Dogwood Classic in Sequoyah Hills (a sub division in Knoxville) sponsored by Eddie's Health Shoppe. Sequoyah Hills is such a beautiful area, so much so that about 2 1/2 years ago we used this site for our engagement photos.
Adam placed 373/458 overall and 30/31 in his age division with a time of 38:18.
Vikki placed 374/458 overall and 33/47 in her age division with a time of 38:19.
